New Site Critique

I've revamped my site using wordpress, it's pretty much done apart from needing to add a few images to the services page, changing my twitter account logo and editing some text here and there.

Also if anyone has any ideas for a logo that'd be grand.

Basically just a blog and somewhere to show off my videos, the services bit is there in case anyone wants to get in touch about work although it isn't really the purpose of the site, it still needs some tweaking on that page.

Quite like that.

The pixilation on the logo typography is pretty annoying as is the vertical alignment of the text on the buttons.

Not sure what you mean about the text buttons? Hopefully I'll have an image for the logo at some point so that'll fix that.

I don't get these issues in Firefox, Opera, Safari, Chrome, or IE8.

Just a small comment on the built, I'd move all of the <script> tags to the bottom of the page, this means that the page loads first, then applies the Javascript.

Just makes it a bit more user friendly really, gives the impression of quicker loading times.

The text on the navigation bars, the tweets bar and the date isn't vertically centred. Looks a bit wrong to me also.

Fix the favicon too

Looks good otherwise

It's a wordpress theme, I've hardly edited it to be honest apart from removing some wordpress junk such as links and a few widgets. The video players are jwplayer and one uses a playlist .asx file and all the vids are hosted on my server so I control the quality.

Aye, just got a quick question, obviously the site is in a temp directory at the moment, if I move it to the root directory the index page loads fine but everything else links back to the temp directory and I can't access the login page. Do I have to rerun the install script?

edit/ never mind worked it out

pretty much. when you first install it'll put things like location of stylesheet etc in a database which will need changing but i imagine this'll be harder then a fresh install which should sort the problem

It was easier than that, just have to change the site url in the wordpress settings, save the changes and then move all of the content to the root directory, job done

That's what I was thinking, it's just a wordpress thtme he downloaded...unless I'm missing something?
