Good price on older Focus?

Generally a stamped service book is whats called 'history'

Yeah, but he doesn't state what type of history - just that it has some. It could be 2 old MOT's and 3 service stamps 5 years ago, it could be FSH, it could be FFSH etc...

Enough Focii out there to expect FSH at least and he doesn't mention that.

Look at that Escort advert, details on the entire service history - nothing in the Focus advert.

What I said is quite clearly visible in your quote.

Well thats strange, as Glass's puts its trade value at £1900ish.

With 60k miles on a 52 plate? You've obviously not found that many decent ones for under £2k or you'd have bought one already.

Slighty OT, but Glasses guide is miles out for trade valuations lately and has been since at least the start of 2010!

Focus must be expensive down south as a 52 plate with that sorta miles is £2500 from a trade seller up here!

Trade see's them at £1500ish

Actually I did, the only problem was that I was looking for a bargain one closer to £1500, as I am in no hurry and would rather wait a little longer than stretch my budget.
Online valuation sites seem a bit optimistic from what I've seen on ebay and autotrader.

In the end the seller wanted 3k for it which is a little much for me.

So, on the continued hunt I have come across this.

Local again, private seller (he works for a dealer but it is his own personal car).
From the description and price, seems good to me!

That looks reasonable as I got a Focus mk1 Ghia TDCI with 102k from a dealer for 2.8k with a few extras. It had a new DMF fitted not long before the sale as well.
