Hey guys am cleaning out my water cooled computer in a CoolerMaster HAF 932 case. Have taken out the rad, pump/res, and waterblock. Am also planning on reapplying the thermal compound to the CPU as I ain't happy with it for some reason?

Anyways just thought the more advanced knowledge users can help myself and others who go on to cleaning their water cooled systems with some hints and tips. I have a couple questions already

1. What should I use or how should I clean the radiator?
2. Any special agents out there to clean the pump and waterblock or shall I just leave them?
3. How long should the silver kill coil be used for?
4. Hints/tips on getting dust out of the damn whole thing?!

most people us vinegar as i do. but... a guy from this firm http://www.cleanstream.co.uk/ told me to use milton as vinegar will help growth (algy) grow. how ever ive not tried it yet but i will be doing next time i have a clean out.

a kill coil will last forever

to get the dust out either use compressed sir in a can can get it from loads of places for keyboards and stuff. or some people will say this is wrong but use a vac. i use a vac but they say it causes static. never had the problem my self. also use a dry paint brush thats good at getting it out

thanks koooowweeee that's some useful info there :)

p.s. are you talking about milton sterilising fluid?

yep! thats what the guy told me at that company. i do there garden and i would say he know more than most. it kills all bacteria. and apparently vinegar helps the grown so if you dont was it out properly it will end up worse

Seems a bit excessive bearing in mind you'll then need to put some form of bio control in anyway.

theres no need for it hes got a kill coil

milton is cheap. i no vinegar is as well but apparently milton is better?? i dont know its want ive been told. but i will be using it next time i clean my loop

£2.65 for a liter, doesn't seem to bad, but reading abit on it would'nt it leave some sort of residue behind as its this.

"When it comes into contact with protein, Milton Sterilising Fluid breaks down to just WATER and minute traces of salt. It is therefore suitable for baby and has been especially formulated to disinfect all accessories that come in contact with baby's mouth."
