So, as the title says, my mother-in-law has been given an MBE in this year's birthday honours list and the close family (12 of us including 3 babies) will be popping up to the big smoke to pick it up from good ol' Queen Liz.

She's asked me to have a look around for somewhere to have a bite to eat before or after the event (don't know what time it will be yet), something like afternoon tea would be perfect, but as I haven't got a blimmin clue about London I thought I'd pick yous guys brains. So...

Somewhere nearby to Buckingham Palace.

Money no object as she's paying!

Somewhere that doesn't mind babies.

Thanks in advance,

Matt.

I doubt for something that 'formal' they'd be happy about babies. Though ask them, they might suggest/give a creche (sp) service?

They dont mind kids. 12 guests and the 500 quid bill they wont be turning you away.

Some great suggestions, I'm checking them all out. Thanks a lot guys!

She has said money is no object, but we won't go without chipping in our share anyway. She was awarded the MBE for services to foster care: 30 years I think.

I'm hoping for a similar award for services to Modern Warfare 2, but people have told me this is unlikely. :(
