Memory for MBP

i would like to know as well..i have a late 2009 alu MBP 15" and wouldn't mind upgrading to 8gig.(i produce music on mine)

My guess is people are not answering this as they simply don't know explicitly.

This is the spec that *does* work in the 2009 onward units:

The CL bit is different?

Not sure how helpful that's been unfortunately.

The CL bit is just the latency of the RAM.

The lower the better.

I've just plumped for some more crucial ram specifically because it has a lower CAS than the OCZ stuff.

Well I bought it and I just get continuous beeps when it's plugged in. I bought it from the physical shop, so I guess DSR don't apply to me?

Be careful what ram you buy. I bought 2 sticks of 2gb corsair ram, it wasnt cheap either! For some reason whenever I closed the lid on my macbook pro, 2009 model, it would not wake up. It wasnt until I swapped to some cheaper hynix ram it ran fine. Hynix ram is what was inside it when I bought it. Not sure why this is though.

Try reseating the RAM, and possibly give it an air dust. Maybe also try one module at a time. It fits physically, and meets the laptop's specification, so if it still doesn't work I'd return as faulty tbh.

Just a side thought, isn't there a memory diagnostic utility accessible on bootup before OSX somewhere?
