Can I put off tax until Wednesday?

"If you use the electronic vehicle licensing service or tax by post at the end of the month, there’s now an exemption for not displaying a tax disc. This exemption covers the first five working days of the month to allow time for the new disc to arrive in the post. While you are still waiting for your tax disc you will need to display your current tax disc. The exemption only applies if applications are made before the current tax disc or SORN expires"

Hopefully will be ok if I am reading that right?

As long as the disc arrives within the first five working days of the month, then I'd read that as a yes. :)

Cheers for looking R420LA6X2/4MNA (Thank heavens for Cut and Paste with a name like a CD Key!)

Only need the Car for Wednesday as it lives in the Garage most of the time so should be alright.

I went to Uni and left my car untaxed for a good few months until my parents sorned it.. Didn't really think about it tbh

if a traffic car see's you your probably gonna get pulled, it will show up on their ANPR that you have no VEL
there isnt a grace period as its the owners responsibilty to make sure that tax is sorted before the due date,
so be carefull, or tax it first

gah my posty still hasnt dropped mine off yet, thank god i've got 5 days grace for buying online

No, you don't. This is an urban myth. The only grace period is the 7 day period which applies if you've ordered an online tax disc prior to the expiration date, but it has yet to arrive.

tis 5, not 5 working days but 5 days, ordered mine yesterday
