Asus 5770 Fan Noise

Is it a CuCore version?
I had a CuCore 5770 earlier, temps were down, 30C at idle. However the noise was too "whiny". So I changed it to an XFX XXX 5770. XFX one was higher on idle temps, about 50C in idle but near silent.
Then I went to Giga GTX460, and now I have to check if the fans are actually turning or not, right now my idle gpu temp @ 27C
 
Yeah, the CuCore cooler really isn't that great! It's not very noticeable until it gets to about 65% for me though...and the cooling is still decent even then.

Silence wise it was a MASSIVE upgrade on the 4870 I had though... noisey as hell! xD

Not yet mate, but idle is around 45 which sounds kinda high. When running games and benchmarks the fan goes mental!?

My idle with the CuCore was around 37C, which is still fairly warm compared to the GTX460 that replaced it (which is idling at 25C right now, somehow). I think around 35C is normal for the 5770 from what I've been told, but yeah, under any load the fan is just crazy. In furmark my card would get close to 100C at 80% fan speed, which was just unbearable.

Not like I spend all day running furmark of course, but in games it was very distracting, I have a definite issue with the heatsink on this one

Look into those load temps when you get a chance, or if the noise is bothering you and it's a recent purchase, get your money back!

It's only a month or 6 weeks old. The fan is annoying and temps seem to very high in all fairness. Not sure what to do.
