My wife was trying to remember who it was that Rimmer referred to in Red Dwarf when talking about "Scott dibbing up the rest of his gravy" (the name she was looking for was Oates who made "the supreme sacrifice")

She was pretty sure it was a chap called Amazon (eh!)

It didn't stop there.

"No, not Amazon I think it might of been Darwin" she says

(I snigger a little and get a "what's with you look")

"No definitely Amazon because Darwin discovered that book about how things work" she says

(I'm now starting to rock gently while trying not to laugh)

"Oh no hang on" she says "Scott and Amazon were the ones who discovered all the swamps and things", "In America I think"

(Starting to lose it now and getting more distainful looks)

She then went on to deduce it was Darwin and most probably Gladstone who discoved the source of the Amazon.

"So was Amazon a person or a place?" she asked me.

Before I can reply she informs me "I think I'll look up these inventors on line"

(Inventors????)

As she's turning the lappy on She asks me whether it was Dawin who discovered Australia and Tasmania. I tell her Tasmania was actually discovered by a chap called Tasman, Abel Tasman in fact, hence the name Tasmania.

Knowing herself that she's slightly gullable and that i'm prone to winding her up occasionally the thinks i'm taking the pee and tells me she doesn't believe me.

This sort of thing is nothing unusual, my whole life is like this now

She's downstairs now with the laptop looking things up "to prove she's right" and it's gone a bit quiet!!!

I wonder if she's worked out who Amazon is????

And in case you wondering yes she's a natural blond.

How else did you think I was going to prove it????

Tell her to lose the goggles. That type of specs works for very few people and she aint one of them.

Anyway, funny on the blondness. My girl tends to come up with such diamonds too.

If she's saying "might of" then she's definitely a true blonde.

Guessing you're blonde too.

*whispers*might/should/would/could have

You didn't have to post all that crap just to get a pic of your bird on here.
