*Official OMG I got my 460 thread*

I bought it from a competitor, walked in and bought for £186 which I felt was pretty good value!

Yep.. I think the price pretty much confirms it's the standard card. But as pretty much all 460's seem to hit 800 MHz on the core, this should be good for a fair bit more if you are interested in trying. The cooler looks to be one of the better designs. What's the noise level under load like?

Noise levels are very good under load, the fan didn't really go above 50% and that was only an audible hum compared to the high pitch of my GTX260 fan. Temps were a lot lower too.

What sort of core/mem speed would you say was a goal for this?

I really like the card to, Going to reinstall games that I couldn't hack the lower fps on because I only like playing max details so Crysis Warhead and GTA4 are being reinstalled tonight :)

Another card pic:

It's got heatpipes coming out around the sides and the PCB is matte black, oozes high quality :)

My palit does 1.087v i can run 925/1850/2200 all stable...

try and beat that...:D

Is a nice looking card my Palit just looks like a piece of cheap tat...

For the sake of £15 and having to wait and having to return it to ocuk via mail if it goes faulty in the first 12 months I'd rather not :p

This way it's a 25 minute drive away!

I agree, if you are happy with the card then that's the most important thing. I'm dead pleased with my GTX460 as well.

So what sort of clocks are you guys running 24/7 then :D I'm at 800 core now and 4GHz mem, shaders locked. Not touched voltages yet!

I have just installed an EVGA gtx 460 EE.. My case temps and cpu temp have gone down quite a bit as this one exhausts the air out the back. Its a bit louder but not too bad..

Think i will stick with this one over my mental clocking palit. In game i see no difference o/c or not....

@ Khaaan!, 800/1600 here also at stock voltage, i haven't tried for anything higher yet since i'm not playing any games that really need it.

Just so you know, 24/7 clocks can be anything you like with these cards, they always throttle down to the same idle/2d clocks no matter what overclock you have set. I'm pretty sure the voltage always steps down to the same level in idle/2d as well but don't quote me on that. As long as your overclock is stable for 3D, everything else will behave just like a stock card.

Thanks, 800 it is then :)

Yeah I noticed it throttling down to 405 and thought wtf then realised these cards are power saving :)

I could not use my 260 as it's on sale plus I'd rather not consume the space inside my case!

At least call them up and get the price difference between the standard and TOP! version. I wouldn't buy from that retailer any more tbh.

Is that MSI 460 going to beat a heavily OC GTX 470? if not its pointless for the price imo

I saw some overclocking of 1GHz on core with these cards, it may be interesting to find out :) Also, the 470 would have more cons if the performance was on the same level.

Fair enough. But it very much depends on whether he just "thought" it was the TOP version he was buying, or whether the retailer said that was what it was. Because the box that it came in (see his earlier post) is the box that the standard card comes in. The TOP version comes in a completely different box. ;)

It's actually listed on their site as the Top edition and the store sticker on the box says Top too, but the MSI sticker denoting model designation does not say Top, just DirectCU!

Hmm in that case i would personally take it back, if the store put a sticker on the box advertising it as another product and charged the TOP price, that's not cricket.
