read the stickies at the top of this subforum, that'll tell you all you need to know

+1

Better to know what has been done to your PC during the overclock just in case something goes pear shaped.

Saying that I bought a pre-overclocked bundle ;)

Indeed, you don't need to pay for someone to overclock it for you. You'll find all the information you need on these forums and by seaching for a bit online.

It really isn't that hard and as mentioned, and you'll know what to do if something goes wrong in the future.

It will give you a nice feeling of achievement when you do it yourself also. :D

Even though i agree with the rest, reading up is the best way to learn, if you set up your trust e-mail (u'll notice it on the bottom right of ur post).

I may be able to help, in 2 weeks time when i have a spare few days. As i live in Skipton which is 25 miles from Bradford and a short train ride away.

Now if we where to arrange me to help, i would probably get you to do it, but talk you through it, explaining things that need changing and why. So you would learn how to do it, and not just get seetings.

So if you are interested set ur trust e-mail up, and drop me a line.

Edit:
Also no payment needed, maybe travel expense's (not necessary though) but key is keep me with a coffee in my hand lol.

i had some details from the company that was supposed to setup the overclock, tried inputting the settings in, but dont think they replicated accross onto the os, os still shows a lower clock speed, which isnt correct,

Also just updated the motherboard bios to make it more stable even though the bios was a beta as my motherboard is a revision 2 of a ud3

OS will show the stock clock of your chip no matter what it is clocked to. Grab the application called Cpu-z and run it, then load your CPU with prime95 or something and see what it changes to.

Updating BIOS version will remove any custom settings that you have manually entered, although saved profiles will still exist and usually work even if the BIOS version has changed.

In most cases the profile will be lost and in any case should not be used on a different bios revision as there may have been alterations that could result in damaging the board i.e over compensating vcore in a prior revision because of vdroop that may have been fixed in a later revision.

Much better to start from scratch when updating a BIOS.

Read up on it and make sure you have the time to do it right and you will be absolutely fine and although it will take more time then paying someone you will gain a better knowledge of your system and the satisfaction of doing it yourself which is always good :).

i have set up my trust, so feel free to email me

Received and will reply to you shortly. So we can arrange a day thats suitable for us both.

After re-reading your spec, we may not get a huge overclock due to the amount of memory but main thing is i'll be explaining how to go about it, so that you learn from it.
