OK, I'm "advanced looking" at replacements for my car.
I've been a fan of the Jaguar XF since I first saw an advert for one.
They seem to take a pretty hefty depreciation in the first couple of years making them affordable to me.
The 2.7l V6 Diesel seems to offer good performance and really not bad fuel economy either.
The petrol version seems very under-specced.
The only potential issue is that they don't appear to do a manual version - they are all automatics.

Does anyone here own one, know somebody who owns one, has driven one?
If so, what is your general feeling of them?

My Uncle has the 4.2 V8 with the supercharger, I haven't had the pleasure of driving it yet but my cousin took me out in it and it is very well built, very comfy and extremely nippy for it's size.

Sorry, I haven't really got anymore to add as I haven't been in it many times but from my limited experience they are pretty decent cars.

(I wouldn't buy one though)

Im not a fan of diesels but these do drive great, lovely car for the money.

Great presence, beautiful interior.

Very nice cars, good to drive, good to look at, good to sit in, only downside is a bit too much electrics, cracking car nonetheless.

I didn't like the Engine/Gearbox combo too much in the diesel though.

Can you elaborate on this please?

Saw a XFR on Saturday, was a beautiful thing.

He probably means a lot to go wrong, and they are starting to get electrical problems.

Dont know why he dosent like the gearbox on them, i think its excellent.

Stuff like the electric gearknob that pops up, that's something to go wrong, those vents that open themselves, another thing to go wrong.

Your still going to need £25k for a good selection, there is one for £17.5k but it's 100k miles, £25k seems to have a better selection of comprimises, I like them but I could think of something better to spend £25k on

It can lift a 7 year old kid and withstand 2 litres of coke poured into it, shouldn't have to many issues in service.

Gearbox is excellent, however I don't think it sits well with the 3.0d engine, just felt "wrong", I think it will be much better suited to a Petrol.

Work colleague has had two this year. First a 3.0 Diesel which was a display car. He traded that in for a 5.0 XFR 510bhp, it is completely insane. It is some limited edition I think, has black wheels, red calipers and is very very white. Both of them have been beautiful cars, he tuned down the new BMW 5 series in favour of the 3.0 diesel.
