Tell me about the LeonCupra R

I disagree, i wouldn't call any of these cars dull .. perhaps a little more sensible ;)

Your other cars have been proper drivers cars, the seat seems like a step back in this sense.

Not slating you in anyway because we all make irrational decisions purely because you can but I think you will get bored very quickly especially with the winter coming up soon. Hello chronic wheelspin and understeer!

I looked into buying a cupra for a while and test drove the cupra TDI and Cupra R. Found them....a bit of a dissapointment if I'm honest. Even the Cupra R I found unexciting. I think it's probably one of those cars that has a nice torque spread and doesn't FEEL quick, despite that it is. That's actually what you want in a car really but hey ho. I looked into running costs and nearly had a cow when I looked at cost of brakes and the average mpg people get. I think you will find people tend to over estimate (lie) about the mpg they get on the petrol Cupras. I also found it clumsy and heavy steering on the Cupra R and the Mrs couldn't park it with its low turning circle. Yeah I know.... If I had the money I would so have a 20vt engined car and map it to 300 odd.

Thing is as dull as the stanard car might or might not be it's hard to compare this one in the same way as it has been pretty significantly changed from standard.

No tints mate pictures must just be misleading, i hate cosmetically changing cars most of the time but im fond of the mirror covers and i didn't know the badge on the front wasn't standard  I love 5 minutes from surrey RR so will chuck it on soon.
Yeah, it clearly doesn't have tints, not sure what threw me..
That Cupra R badge belongs on the back though ;)

The discs are obscene, even OEM ones for the lowly TDI Cupra. Go to Eurocarparts or whatever and that soon drops, or so I'm told..

Prices for the brakes aren't what I'd call obscene, you have whacking great big discs and Brembo calipers so original parts aren't expected to be that cheap.

What you get when you put big boy parts on a hot hatch, look at the original Focus RS and Racing Puma brake prices too ;)

who cares if its a step backwards from your previous cars ?

You obviously like changing and owning lots of different cars and owning a high output front wheel drive hot hatch has to be a tick on your car "to do" list if your going to go about car ownership that way.

If you do swap again, will only make you appreciate more what you had before :)

Discs for a Racing puma were around £600 inc pads when i owned one so these are pretty cheap in comparison.... The Subaru was hardly cheap either so im not new to this and to be honest the discs have loads left on them, i think if i pop some yellow stuff pads on it will improve no end.

The VX220 turbo was the best, all 4 discs set me back pretty much nothing as there off a Calibra :D

If the pads aren't brembo which i doubt they are, they shouldn't be expensive.

My DC5 has Brembo calipers, and Brembo discs and a pair of front discs are less than 100quid from a stealer.

I like the alloys on a LCR, about the only thing, lol.

Not too bad then, although they are smaller discs on the DC5. But as Sam has experienced before, usually kitting out a Brembo equipped car can be a little pricey.

Yeah but there not much bigger on the LCR, and are they actually brembo discs or just brembo calipers?

Sounds like LCR owners get raped for the brakes lol.
