Actually thats exactly what the RSPCA will advise you to do. Came home one eve with the missus, and there was a fox just sitting in our porch, not frightened. Even had to step over the thing. We both thought something must have been wrong with it, since it didn't scarper. So I called up the RSPCA telling them we have what is probably an injured fox sitting in our porch, and their advice was, go poke it with a stick, it'll go away. I was expecting right we are on our way thank you for the call, not ah don't worry about it, go poke it with a stick. I didn't bother, wasn't doing me any harm.. Checked an hour or so later and the thing had taken off it its own good time.
I tend to only like hand reared/domesticated ones, but thanks all the same
I would. I'd chase him away with an old Nur Spec R backbox or maybe an old turbo elbow and downpipe.
