Car wing mirror spiders

whats worse is when they get in your motorbike mirrors ;/

i freaked out the other week when i was stopped at traffic lights, and noticed a spider bungee jumping down on to my arm (was a big ****** too). took my key out my ignition to get it off.

poof.

I thought every car came with a mirror spider? I reckon they put them their before leaving the factory, its the last quality control check. :p

I get these quite a lot. There's lots of little twigs on the ground where I park so a quick twirl of one around the edges of the mirror usually dislodges the culprit.

They don't really bother me, other than the fact that I'm not too keen on spiders so when I'm sat in the car and it rockets out to get something in it's web it gives me a bit of a start.

i've always had this problem since i first got a car years ago.

Why would you remove the web? It'll blow off as soon as you hit the motorway anyway.

Doesn't always work. But when it does and there's a spider on the web at the time can be quite amusing seeing it cling on for dear life only to suddenly vanish as you pick up speed :)

Good, it was intended as such :p

Just imagine you all in your leathers, lid on, blipping the throttle looking "rude" and then all ofa sudden you jump up and run about flapping your arms because of the spider*

*I realise it probably didn't happen like that but its what I am imagining :D

I've got one on my Focus that lives behind the driver's side and a new web appears most mornings after getting rid of the old web. Though the last time I got rid of it off was sometime last week and the spider has not made a new one since - he may appear tomorrow.

You'll never find them Dimple, they are there forever :D

I usually have them because I have old cars, but now I have them on my bike too. I find webs on the pedals, in the frame and around the handlebars. Sort of feel bad destroying their new 'house' every morning :D

I have a door-mirror spider on the driver's side, I call him Fred.

More impressive is my radiator grille spider, makes a web in front of the air-con condenser, pretty optimistic I must say; "holy **** these flies are coming in fast." Why he doesn't just eat the cooked flies on the rad/condenser I do not know.

leave a camera to shot every min through the night ;) and then stitch a video together to see the progress lol

I came back to my car the other day and saw a thick long jagged white line on my bonnet. Looked for all the world like a freshly craved scrork mark some chav had left as a token of affection. Resigned to the inevitable paint job that would follow I ran my finger along it. Turns out it was a spiders web.
