How come that says Css 16,998

when steam says 54,329 ?

or is that server number not player numbers?
 
Swifty55 exactly ! and with mod support from the off with this game and dedi support we might get somewhere. promod would be straight there so thats any bs stripped straight out.

i am one of those original players in the cod series who played cod 1 from 1st day of release. while i admit cod 1 and uo are still best followed by cod 4 the days of that game are gone as much as i hate to say it.

so i move on to whatever is next best . cod 4 is best out of the other fps multiwise. bfbc2 is slow in comparison feels more lumpy less playable and quite frankly boring after a few rounds. sure it looks better but cod 4 wipes it in playability in mods , competitive maps you name it all round.

so what other fps is there to get excited about ? medal of honour is bfbc2 it will be a flop in amount of players playing it after a few months where as even if the cod isnt as great as we hope it will have the player base.

so while i agree with some of the comments from vets i also think it will be best fps for next yr minimum. if its wrong then yes i will just play cod 4 .

Server number I reckon. I know COD4 has about that many servers from the game's own server browser.

I would be interested to know player numbers but I'm not sure where to get them from.
 
yeah, i think it's damn near impossible to get player numbers for anything other than steam games really :(
 
i know its not accurate but if i go xfire the amount of people i see playing cod 4 compared to cs is like 10-1 . i know that not accurate but all the steam figures i take with a pinch of salt .cod 4 i what most people play with modern pcs fps wise

No it just means that more people with x fire play cod4 than cs which would make sense as CS players would use the steam chat rather than xfire...

Maybe you should have asked "Name a Valve Multiplayer FPS that I like"

To which I would have responded

"HOW THE **** DO I KNOW"

But of course your opinion means that all of their games are bad.....
 
I am looking forward to this latest game. I really don't care if it's using the 'same old' engine as the last three games. I'm only interested in the multiplayer part of the game, so gameplay is far more important than eye candy to me.

Dedicated servers, developer console and mod tools have already been confirmed, so it's already shaping up to be a breath of fresh air after the monumental failure that was MW2.

It is server numbers and not number of players.

Looking forward to tonight/tomorrow. Shame Black-ops will have sum corny kill streak rewards like MW2. However I believe/hope Black-ops will be what MW2 really should have been.
