PSU for SLi 460 GTX.. Sapphire pure 625W ?

And? In that case the OP would be better off selling his current 460 and getting a better single card.

I'm never going dual cards again.

I paid £120 for my 460gtx... So if i sell for the same i need to find £230 quid for a 480 gtx... Or £160 for another 460 gtx and they will become cheaper down the line...

Tbh the 460 Gtx plays everything i care to play at 1920x1080 physics on the lot.. so really at the moment have no need for a faster card..

Ok cancelled the Xfx and went with the Sapphire from overclockers.. The company i was ordering the XFX from could not confirm my address details and wanted to delay shipping even though i paid with paypal..? Ordered from OC and within an hour the Psu has been despatched...

Recieved the sapphire psu today... First immpressions are its ok. Feels a bit cheap to handle. The Psu is nice and heavy and looks good. The Plug in cables seem very cheap and are far too short for my antec 300.. The sata lead only just reaches my hard drives at the bottom of the case, I have had to extend the molex lead to connect my fans at the top of the case..
Not powered it up so cant comment on noise or how it works but will have a fiddle later...

I have 2 x 460gtx cards i,m going to Sli at the moment to try it on....

good luck!
I bet your Antec 300 is starting to look abit small now with a largish heatsink in push/pull and SLI 460.
Pictures please :D

Its incredibly tight. I got a new motherboard as well which is full atx..

Will take a few pics later on tonight when its finished. I,m not keeping the Sli setup only a single card, just testing with the two to see if the psu works ok for future upgrades....

surprised to hear about the cables being to short for a little case like the 300.

The cables are quite a bit shorter than my 400w OCZ psu.. They all reach but it makes it harder to hide them away. I extended the molex using a sata adapter to my dvd R/w as it was too tight using the sata connector..

can I ask you for a favor.

take the psu back out, plug the leads in, and take a photo of it stretched out, and post this pic.

just to help "see" how short they are, to improve the knowledge base.

:eek:I have just spent hours getting it all in...I have a couple of the spare cables left over i can stretch out.. The Molex lead measures 45cm from Psu plug to First molex plug... The sata leads are of similar length..

:D

Personally I didn't find it that bad, however I guess when I used that one for my friends build we weren't being amazingly picky about cable management.

Ok hours is a slight exageration. But i dont really want to cut all the tye wraps and take everything out again to put it all back in...

It is quite tight in the 300, it seemed quite a big case with my uATX board....:D
