Hey guys im looking to build myself a new system ill be using it mainly for 3D work rendering/animation etc. My budget is £1000 and that is for the base unit only so no keyboard/monitor/mouse/os/speakers i will be running dual monitors if that makes any difference. Thanks guys any feedback would be great - Adam

could even add extra ram for 8gb.

Thanks for the replys guys its much appreciated, on thrifles spec is 12gb of ram necessary these days? thanks - Adam

12gb is overkill. You should be fine with 4gb if you go with stulid's build, maybe get the extra up to 8 if you really think you'll need it (but with all that spare money you could upgrade to a 470 :))

Thanks again for the replys guys, if i was just to get 6GB of ram for now how does this build look....

overkill for gaming yes, but not everyone uses thier high end pcs just for gaming :P

there are things that can use the extra ram.

OP:
however, if ur not sure if your going to need the extra ram, u can always get 6GB then get another 6GB later if you find u need it.
u might find that 6GB would be plenty for you

that way u can get a better base system for your money, like an SSD, etc.
which would prolly help as well with loading large 3d models
