I could murder the half half cat some times. Wondering if anyone knows how to sort this out. He is a kitten @ about 16 weeks old. He uses the litter tray fully and doesnt go out yet as not fully jab'd. Now heres the issue the ****ing litter stuff goes everywhere!

Tried getting bigger litter tray doesnt work
Tried less gravel (ie 1cm) doesnt work
Tried more gravel (ie 5cm) doesnt work

How the hell do i get him not to empty it all over the floor!

Might seem a small thing but drives me nuts!

You can get enclosed litter trays. I think they are on the market for people think the cat actualy cares about being hidden. These people are stupid. A dock off cat strode into my back garden the other day and stared at me the entire time it was taking a dump. Then looked at me as if to say "yeah, i just did a fat crap in your border, and now i'm off".

I've never known cat litter that didnt end up on the floor though.

My cat has a trick of standing on the side of the litter tray when it takes a crap. Of course, when it does this, the tray tips up - usually turning completely over - leaving me with a mess of litter and cat turds to clean up.

This seems to happen once or twice a week. Damn thing doesn't seem to learn. Not the brightest of cats... I think she is a little bit retarded actually.

We've got two cat carrier type trays, but even then the littler still goes everywhere.

You can get Toilet Training kits from Pets@Home to try and get them using a human toilet. I tried it on ours without success :/

A bit of litter on the floor wasn’t the problem with one of ours, he used to try and eat the stuff when he first stated to go.

Think my cat may be related to yours she does the same all the time, had to rescue mine from the toilet the other day, had left the seat up and she decided to go for a drink, but fell in face first, scared the crap out of me!

Enclosed litter tray helps .. but also the type of litter makes quite a big difference. Some of the clumping ones are quite good.
It also doesn't hurt to place the litter tray on some kind of plastic mat so any litter he drags out is at least easy to clean up.

the scattering is an effect of the cat trying the bury the poop under the litter. embrace this behaviour, when cats don't bury it the smell is unbelievable.

its a pita, been there but thankfully now he's jabbed, cat flaps done and it's all good.

I'd suggest getting a big shallow cardboard box and putting the tray in that.

we got an enclosed one just to stop that. its easier to clean also because its got 3 bases, 1 is a sieve and 2 solid so u just shake it all through then bin the crap.

Had the same problem with my cat, we would find bits of kitty litter all over the place. Drove me potty.

The enclosed trays are your best bet. Put a mat down aswell, keeps any errant pieces from sticking to the carpet/floor.

Lol... the cats I've seen in my garden seem to get this glazed, hypnotized look across their face, it's very odd.

Get one of those blue tablets you put in the cistern and enjoy a blue faced cat for a few weeks :D

I use some cheap wood based littler from Home bargins which works wonders :) It does leave the tray but half as much as gravel/paper based ones do.
