Cat + Toilet?

My cat does this, she also does it to get my attention, i just sweep it up and let her outside [which you can't do].

I could murder the half half cat some times. Wondering if anyone knows how to sort this out. He is a kitten @ about 16 weeks old. He uses the litter tray fully and doesnt go out yet as not fully jab'd. Now heres the issue the ****ing litter stuff goes everywhere!

Tried getting bigger litter tray doesnt work
Tried less gravel (ie 1cm) doesnt work
Tried more gravel (ie 5cm) doesnt work

How the hell do i get him not to empty it all over the floor!

Might seem a small thing but drives me nuts!

Couple of ways we tackle this is by either using wood based cat litter, that doesnt stick to the cats feet.

Or the other way which is to get car mats with tube prongs sticking up

A bit like the one above, this way when the cat exits the litter tray, the mat pokes the litter attached to there feet and generally it falls into the mat, then just hoover it later.

My cat has a trick of standing on the side of the litter tray when it takes a crap. Of course, when it does this, the tray tips up - usually turning completely over - leaving me with a mess of litter and cat turds to clean up.

Sorry, but picturing that is hilarious :D.

Try a deep sided washing-up bowl instead of a litter tray. You can get a nice thick-ish layer of litter in the bottom and the higher sides should stop the little bugger throwing the stuff all over the shop.

Worked for my little monster.

This seems to happen once or twice a week. Damn thing doesn't seem to learn. Not the brightest of cats... I think she is a little bit retarded actually.

Could you put a weight in the bottom? Might help. :)

As already stated, get a hooded litter tray. Works a treat. Also use the woodchip style litter instead of gravel. Should help!

Your post made my day sir :D

I think actually I'll invest in one of those enclosed litter trays that someone posted about earlier. She'll have a hard time tipping that up...

I have a litter tray upstairs and one downstairs, but contrary as they are, they only want to crap in the upstairs tray (maybe they've been watching league of gentleman? "This is the downstairs WC, into which we don't pass solids..."). Anyway, better for me as it takes the stink a few minutes to diffuse down.

I can always tell when the cat has tipped up the tray, as she will shoot downstairs like a flash, hide in the corner, and look at me sheepishly, with her ears back in a slightly "wtf" manner.
