Hi everyone,

Hoping someone can help! Just got a Canon 1000D for my birthday, completely unexpected, and with regards to "proper" photography, I'm a rather large n00b!

Was looking to find out what books anyone would reccommend?? "Previous" camera was a casio exilim and I got some good shots off that but, this is a pretty big step up!

Thanks in advance,

Jess

That digital field guide looks quite good, just had a look on Amazon and definitely think it'd be worth a look through given I'm a total beginner. Thanks

I found Understanding Exposure very good, bare in mind a new edition has recently been published. The old one is fine, but don't pay full price for it.

Just bought myself Understand Exposure 3rd edition after recommendation from mcc49 on here, shipped today. Can't wait. :)

Get a copy of a photography magazine too, one that focuses on DSLR's is better! I find for someone knowing quite a little they can help massively.

Thanks guys, will check these out as soon as I'm home and hopefully post some pictures too. Currently in Norway without my camera :( it's not fun haha.

Thanks again!
