Thanks mate

im currently using a Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3P

and the RAM is 4GB G.Skill DDR2 PC2-8000 PQ Series (5-5-5-15) Dual Channel kit

Why change then?

I have the P35C DS3P (or whatever) and 4gig of Geil DDR2 4-4-4-12 ram.

(and a Q6600 G0) and the PC overclocks fine at 3gig. I havent tried to go any higher yet, but i'm certain it'll go there, it's running very comfortable at the moment.

I think the question you should be asking is what cooler to use.

ahh, il give it a try tonight then to see what i can get out of this mobo.

currently using a Freezer 7 pro - may not be up to the job

if i could get 3ghz that would do me fine.

the only thing i would note is that i have the ram running 0.1v higher than normal. Otherwise all i needed to do was up the FSB .

You should be ok cooler wise. I have the Tuniq Tower 120. Basically a mammoth heatsink with a 120mm fan sandwiched in the middle.

Nothing wrong with what you have. I had a P35 DS3R and that was a fantastic clocker. You should manage 3.6Ghz on that if the cpu is willing.
