Book reveals The Stig's identity. Top Gear not happy.

The only way this will end is with Ben being the star in a reasonably priced car and the stig will turn up and sit next to him.

Ben will lose his job over this and it's his loss. I'd rather be the stig and work for top gear than sell a book. Idiot.

I would imagine the amount of publicity he has gained from this whole court case will lead to more job opportunities than before. Before: Ben Collins, Formula 3 driver no-one has heard of. Now: Ben Collins, formerly the Stig.

Who would employ a guy that goes breaks his contract for financial/personnel gain?

I thought it was common knowledge that the stig has never been just one driver, this opens the flood gates for all those drivers who have appeared as the Stig and to cash in on it.

Another loss for Collins as my understanding is that most of the random drivers on the show, and presumably any other stigs (except the international ones) have been contracted through his company. I'd imagine chances are one/all of those could go directly to the beeb now and cut him out of the loop.

Sorry for the silly question, but is this Ben's book or a book that someone has made about him?

I can't see why he would want to reveal his own identity as the stig..

There's also the possiblity (more likely, as I doubt he's that daft) that he lost the gig first, then attempted to publish the book. Or got offered something he'd prefer to do, or had had enough.

I doubt he did it with the expectation he'd carry on working on TG.

Not really much help when most in the motoring business knew what he was doing for Top Gear already...

ps3ud0

He'll have plenty of opportunities coming up to tout the book and talk about the court case and his life as The Stig on all the daytime TV shows if he wishes, that will be a nicer earner.

Could possibly get himself a newspaper motoring column.

It's about the best publicity he could possibly get for his own company and his sponsors, I'm sure the traffic to his site and interest in driver training, corporate days and such has gone through the roof.

Even If he gets dropped from Top Gear, he will do well out of it for sometime to come.

There are a lot of people saying....
"OH I KNEW WHO HE WAS FOR AGES...! YOU MUST SUCK BECAUSE YOU DON'T KNOW... PANCAKE!"

Well, well done for you.
But the fact is, a few days ago, it wasn't common knowledge spread across all forms of British media and the internet. It's not really the same now.

given how bad the last top gear was, he might have realized that there might not be that many more top gear shows to go anyway

I can't help thinking he has shot himself in the foot, he won't be the stig again.

I won't be buying the book.. who wants to read a book by some helmet?
