New Nvidia Drivers Soon????

BC2 has a problem with low GPU usage on certain maps, will be fixed with next set.

Be interesting to see how it will fix it, Dice a while back were adamant that the low gpu usage across multiple cards was normal and increasing the usage wouldn't increase framerate.

I know, but you know I am only joking, as I'm of the firm belief that they're just as bad as eachother. I chose the "AMD" one because it's fairly new :p

Yup. I've owned plenty of nvidia and ati cards, and they both as bad as each other, they just have different release policies.

ATI like to stick to their schedules, so they'll release a driver and any fixes that aren't ready in time won't get included. People that don't read the change-logs properly end up downloading and installing 3 sets of new drivers and then moan because they don't fix their problem.

With nvidia, if a fix isn't ready for the release date, then the release date gets pushed back. It ends up with everyone having to wait months for the drivers. When they do actually come they fix more problems than each ATI one, because they took 3x as long to make.

My PC won't get the chance to experience the crap that is BC2, still playing BF2 and awaiting a decent follow up in BF3, that's if Dice don't go cheap on us and give us another console oriented BF.

It's been in development for four years so it's unlikely it will be a console port, consoles will get a noob friendly version that will not bring them to their knees, similar to BF2 modern combat on the xbox/PS2.

Its an amazing game :D

The rush mode is just awesome:cool: the ability to open up the next part of the map once the objectives have been achieved works so well and keeps a far more active / exciting game going as opposed to BF2 where your team would take a flag for it to be taken again by the enemy teams, could not play that mode now would be like watching paint dry:eek:

The destructible environments also is the next step forward and sets a new benchmark which future FPS games will have to follow.

Generally I have really enjoyed the BF series of games along with the cod releases but this game in my view brings both game types together as one... far from being crap!

Cheers

I wanted to give everyone an update. We are in the process of building the final driver and it will take about 10 days for testing to complete and pushed out to NVIDIA.com. I will still update everyone who has PM'd directly but I would expect the final driver to be available on NVIDIA.com in the next 10 days.

:)

Take this with a pinch of salt ;)
Since 2 months i work for Asus Inc. Netherlands.

Im not working by the driver programming section,i spoke this week with a driver programmer, and there is a delay conserning the DX 7 Bug, it seems a difficult
problem.
It take some weeks that Asus and other card vendors together with nvidia
Corp. working hard to solve the issue.

Do not expect the new driver will be released in the first half of September.

It is not a lie from Nvidia i think, they espected the new driver release in the first week in september.

I'm working in the 3D development Section.(It's Beatifull the 3D development)

Hope to make things clear for the moment.

I'm a diehard bf2 fan but even I have to admit BC2 is a good stop gap while waiting for bf3. From what I have read bf3 is based on an updated frostbite2 engine as used in bc2. I really hope we get the same/ better gfx etc as bc2 with the game play of bf2..... There's load of rumour around about it and nothing really confirmed for certain. The initial suggestion was that they would do a special, full-fat, all bells and whistles, shiny (64+ Player maps) pc version and a dumbed down, lame-ass (16 Player maps) console version. If there is any god this will be true!!

Heres to keeping the fingers crossed :D I hope BF3 is a very big game and has loads of new and exciting maps :)

UPDATE

"One of the test systems I used to test the final driver was a Geforce GTX 285 on a Q6600 running at 3.2GHz (OC of course) and I was getting near 100% usage with high graphic settings so I hope the new driver will also fix the issue for you as well. That is close to your system configuration."
