Calling all ST-3 Owners (well anyone with a DVD sat nav in a ford)

I finally took the plunge and put the hesitation to one side, i bought myself a Focus ST-3, Show Room condition with only 8k Miles and on an 58 plate (December 2008).
It has the DVD Sat nav system installed but i think i have an issue with it...
When i turn off the engine and leave the car, the Screen remains lit up with the time and date displayed, as if it were like a screen saver standby mode, i am sure this is not right, also... each time i want to use the Sat Nav i have to go through the ropes of Selecting my country before my route and ALL my history is gone, IE, Home and Previous entries, the disk sounds like it is trying to spin all the time making a noticeable racket, even when the engine is off its making its self noticed.
To me it sounds like the DVD for the Sat nav is dislodged or damaged and the noise its making sounds like it is trying to eject or read the disk.

If this is the case, would it loose its memory each time?

Yes, it is going in on Monday for a free Safety check, i mentioned there is an issue with the Nav and i was told it would be looked at, it just grinding away at me wondering what the issue is.

They'll sort it under warranty when it goes in, dont make the same mistake I did and stress over it, it will be sorted

Do any of you know if there is an Ipod hook up in the Ford DVD Nav System? to change tracks etc, i have the AUX in the glove box but would like to change tracks without having to touch the phone.

this set me back £14100. it has the full sat nav system in it too and park assist.

My Mum's TCDI focus used to leave the HU display on and the trip computer lit up after you locked the doors. They turned off after a couple minutes.

Yeah, I've hired a few 09 plate focuses and it's normal!

They stay on for a few mins, not sure exactly how long though, I'm not gonna stand around waiting to see
