HTC Desire HD (Ace)

Personally I want this phone body on the HTC Ace.

I'm due an upgrade tomorrow, I was going to get the Samsung Galaxy S. This thread is making me think that I should wait until the HTC Ace is released. I love HTC phones they are quality. I had my HTC G1 for 18 months, no insurance and its been fine even with root and me fiddling with things I'm not supposed to on it.

i had an interview with HTC back when they were just doing winmo phones. like 7 years ago... Wish i'd gone back 3-4 years ago to try again, id be on all the new phones

Haha, I can't wait since I got my Desire on sim free and it's the AMOLED version, so I can sell it easier

Might wait for O2 to stock this one and get it cheap! that'll probably be nearer to Christmas though.

tempted for the 4.3" screen but i won't buy another phone unless it has 3.0 on it and an unlocked bootloader.

Glad I have the Desire. While this would be nice to have, I have a feeling it would be too big for my pockets.

If you keep waiting for the next phone to come out, youll never get round to actually buying one!

I'm with Three and eligible to upgrade end of this month, I was set on the Desire but might just wait for the Ace now - I hate waiting!

Well HTC are sponsoring our work lounge this month, and it's all about the Desire HD

And some info on the Desire Z too (HTC Vision), which sadly has a neutered cpu of 800mhz

I'm not sure how much bigger it will actually be if you look at the amount of unused space on the Desire. The Samsung Galaxy S is only 3.4mm longer than the Desire.

There could be good reasons for that, like saving more battery as the extra MHZ dont provide enough of a performance boost on Froyo, etc.

The only thing that gets me is that it seems to be a fatter HD2 with a slightly upgraded camera. The HD2 has been out for a year (and looks nicer)...

HD2 runs WinMo as an OS.

And OS should have no impact on the external design. The tech specs are almost identical to the HD2, so it's just a bit of shame for the Ace to be a bit chunkier.
