Them -- 'Hello is that Mr Britboy? I must warn you this message is being recorded ..'

me -- 'Yup'

Them - 'Did you have a motorbike accident on 16/4'

Me - 'Yup, wrote the bike off'

Them - 'I represent company x, can I ask did you hurt yourself at all during the accident?'

'No I didn't, not at all'

'How fast were you going?'

'I reckon about 30'

'And you didn't hurt yourself'

'No, not at all'

'Really?'

'Really .. I didn't hurt myself'

'Any niggles?'

'No'

'I can't believe you hit him at 30 and had no niggles'

'Well I didn't'

'Any time off work at all? Were you late getting to work?'

'No'

'No bruises, nothing?'

'Nothing'

'What about stuff you couldn't see or feel (!!!!!!) - You see his insurance will have some money set aside for settling injury claims if you had any injuries, and at 30 with the bike written off just about everyone has injuries .. even the slightest niggle? Any 'micro-bruising'? Were you shook up?'

'Well I didn't .. er .. no not really.'

'But you'd be due some money even if you had some bruising that by now has completely dissapeared'

'But I didn't'

'Have you EVER had any neck pain since the accident? Back pain?'

'Yes, last night I was playing footy and someone kicked me in the neck, after that it ached for a while'

'That could have been related to the bike accident'

'No, it wasn't, I'd just been kicked in the neck'

'But if that was just jarring something that was done in the injury, you don't understand, you could end up with a lot of money.. you really should claim for this Mr Britboy ... I think you're making a mistake ..'

The world is full of scum :( How many people with this kind of sales pitch would have said 'Actually I suppose I did have a little bruising' .. and away they go off on their insurance claim :/

These companies should be made illegal, if you were injured enough in the first place to deserve compensation i'm sure you would have persued it, if someone is chasing you then obviously it isn't that bad.
 
I got a text message similar to this, what was bizarre was the fact that I haven't been in an accident. Unless they knew something I didn't.
 
I had this after someone ran into the back of my car... Had a bit of an achey neck but didn't bother out of principle.
 
I had a similar call to this - except I was at fault in the accident - when I told them this the response was "do you have the contact details of the other party please":mad:

Obviously it was quite a bad one and caused amnesia. :p


I often get similar calls about accidents I've had...when they were my fault, they go through all the spiel and I point out I'd rather not claim for the damage to my own car off myself and they get a bit upset and say bye. :( :p
