My poor car got bumped :(

As much as people probably dislike them, an accident management company may be the way to go. If they think you weren't at fault they'll take the case on and you'll pay a small fee to insure yourself against them not being able to recover all the costs so you don't pay out regardless.

Pretty sure if you tell them that you were hit while parked/stationary they'll agree it's something they could help with.

This has got to be his fault surely? He clearly didn't check behind before reversing. Stick to your guns.

So you were actually parked in the spot, stationary, ready to turn off the engine and this tool reverses into you?

How hard did you smack him when he suggested 50/50!!!

Took a phone call last night from the assessor.

They offered me 900quid initially. I explained a few things about the car, and its condition prior to the accident, and he came up to 1300. I then went on to explain about the new engine last year, the maintenance I had done to the car, and the rare configuration.

In the end we settled for 1500 :)

Was all geared up for them to offer stick to around 1k. They also told me that they have waived my excess, which I think means they ruled in my favour for fault.

I have a silly price offered to me for a 1.5 DCI Megane Sports Touring Dynamique. I am struggling to find any reason to say no.

Its comfy and does a million miles to the gallon... Just had a refurbished engine from Renault fitted. (60k on the old one) How Renault managed to get "Sports" into the title, i will never know!

http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2017361.htm - looks something like that. But is going to cost me circa 2k....

Buy it.

Then sell it and buy something better with the profit.

Its an option I am considering :) Drive it a about a bit whilst the new engine/gearbox is still under guarentee (60k or 1 year) is offered, i think! Should give me enough time to save up some moolah, and then flog the Renault.

Could be a nice stepping stone!
