any powercolor 5830 pcs+ owners here ?

900 chip and 1150 mem idles at 39 but thats cos im on 10.7 drivers as 10.8 had better temps but messed scaling up. it goes to about 55 when playing games.

don't know how much further it would go got bored putting it up so i left it there!

at stock mine runs at 22c and in games only 39C with a 50% fan level,
when overclocked to 900 chip and 1100 me i get in game 56c. The fan is quite noisey if it goes past 65%. I leave it on 55% and seems ok temp and noise level wise. The temps above are with the fan at 55%

At stock on 10.8 it idled at 31 and got up to about 50 in games. i don't have any special fan profiles or anything set like that. it was all set up from ccc!

don't know about fans its in a different room and its in an antec 1200 so i can't normally tell the difference between the gpu fan and the 7 fans in the case(all set on low).

never really overclocked a gpu before so wasn't really sure what i was doing. when i used auto tune it got gpu clock to 990 before i got bored and turned it off, but 990 caused issues when i rebooted (i didn't even notice what auto tune clocked the memory too so it might have been the memory clock).

i can only see 1 and it appears silver, thats if i am looking at the correct thing. silver block held on by push pins between the end of the card with the 6pin power blocks and the copper heat pipes?

Sorry for the threadjack, but any CF users here? I'm considoring it but can't find any info on it, worried about microstutter and that. :)

Why would you want to run the fan louder and faster - more dust build up, noisier and quicker fan wear? These chips are made for high temps - running a fast fan for constant cooler temps doesn't make sense. It will also make the delta between your idle and load temps bigger - large heating up and cooling differences is worse than running at higher temps.

There is nothing wrong with the default fan profile and the biggest advantage of the 5830 PCS+ card is it runs the quietest and coolest out of the majority of DX11 cards dues to it's size and huge cooler and fan..

I have mine using the default fan profile and it's fantastic. So quiet and cool. As mentioned above, between 50-60 in demanding games and fairly quiet. In 2D almost silent.

These cards also have a low voltage set for the GPU, so don't expect huge overclocks but do enjoy a very quiet and cool card.

My fan regulates it's own speed, why would you lock it at 55% when it can idle at 21%?

I'm considoring clocking mine. I was told by the man at Powercolor that as long as I used autotune in CCC then the warranty wasn't void. All Autotune does is change the settings in CCC that you can set manually anyway, so I could easily just set it manually and still maintain the warranty.

What kind of settings are people running? I don't know how to overclock graphics card, as far as I'm aware it's just a case of turning up the clocks until you chicken out or it becomes unstable. No voltage changes to do or anything on these cards?

At the moment it runs the stock 825/1050. What kind of performance increases have people had in games, for example Crysis? Here's my run in the Crysis Benchmark Tool at stock:

If I could get it to run on all high settings with that kind of FPS, I'd be very happy. :)

it is copper on my pcs+ which seems odd , in all the youtube vids i have seen they are silver in colour and only the heatpipes are copper colour

Mine is copper too. I think on some of the early cards they made the block from aluminium, but on the later ones switched to copper for better heat transfer. :)

what drivers are you lot using ? , just done a format & reinstall of windows7 x64 and now the performance is lower even with same settings :(
