****** OcUK Starcraft II Tournament Entry Thread ******

Yea these are the lines I'm thinking on. The reason I've been so vague thus far with whether it'll be a group or knockout is because it will really depend on numbers. We're at 18 entries so far :) so it's getting to the point where a group setup might be the way to go. Also it should be more interesting to all of the players involved. Whether it makes total sense to use a group setup with double elimination, I'm not sure..makes more sense in a full on knock out setup surely?

Will update with specifics as we go, but ideas and suggestions are always very much welcome :D

...I'd like to observe the top 4.

Certainly :)

Will be kicking off probably next saturday with some of the first stage of games, rest of the first stage will then be on the monday afterwards. If people have problems with a specific time or day we can probably work around that though.

Saturday i'll be drunk and probs very muddy at Bestival, but count me in for the Monday :)

Right, you'll all be put into groups for a group qualifier, which will lead to a quarter-, semi- and grand final later in the week. There's still space for one more person to make it 5 per group.
Most of these groups will be playing their matches on Saturday, with one group playing on monday evening. Each will be best of 3, so be prepared for up to around 12 games each on the day. I'll post a full listing of groups later in the week.

If you cannot play on saturday, let me know asap and I'll put you in the monday evening slot. I'm already aware of Indie and skillmister being unable to play on saturday.

Also I need details from Adsta and Tashohnie asap please! :)

I can only play saturday during the day. I work 7pm - late on saturday... and sunday.

i'd prefer to be on saturday (but not strictly neccessary) as on monday i've got school and got h/w to do, etc.

Yea, been debating between 1 or BO3 games per match for group stage :(. 1 would mean 4 games each, which might be a bit easier overall.

BO3 will probs be better for the knockout stages? BO5 for final? Maybe for group stages just do 2games each? 'home/away' so to speak.

Or split group games up over teh week. so all games need to be complete before a certain date/time with replays as proof. Then the following few days knockout games commence. etc...

Theres no way i can commit to 12 games on my 3rd night in a new student house  That could be like 5 hours play if i somehow managed to not go out first round.

Ok, thanks for letting me know.

Yeea figured as much :). We'll stick to 1 game each in the group stages, then bump it up for knockout/final matches. 4 games each gives 10 games worth of ranking data for each group. Should work out ok :)
