..well sort of, got myself a Vauxhall Omega 3.2 Elite.

Last had a mondeo mk2 2.0 zetec which I got off ebay for £500 to get me to the end of uni, which it did a fine job of. Until recently that is when the immobiliser started to play up, causing the battery to drain quickly and making the engine not switch off. After a few jump starts and replacement of fuses it seemed back to normal, but I decided it was time to get rid and upgrade.

Few days later I found this big barge with 74,000 miles on it. Looked like a clean example, all of the toys work bar the rear blind which I'm not fussed about. The last owner even had extra carpeting (insulation) installed over the original floor mats. Test drive was good, nothing knackered, the automatic gearbox perhaps isn't as smooth has my dads E38 7 series though. Ohh and obviously the 7 series feels more up market inside and handles that bit better.

I've not bothered to clean the car since buying it 10 days ago, but here are some quick snaps:

Excuse the sports bottle, had just been playing 7 a side.

Got the car for £980 on top of my old mondeo as trade in.

After owning it for the last 10 days, I'm quite satisfied, even my dad is pretty surprised by how much car I have got for the money. The car has leccy everything; 4 heated seats, 5 disc bose stereo which is actually nice, dual climate, xenons, auto wipers, sunroof, cruise which is something good that I've never had before. It also has some type of navigation which requires a sim card, but I've not tried that yet, but don't expect much from it tbh.

Downsides, most plain car in the world and it's rather thirsty.

So yeah I didn't do a spec me thread beforehand, but feel free to pass judgement now or ask any questions! :)

Lovely cars. One of Vauxhall's best in years. Such a joy to drive and for an auto they have a bit of punch to them.

Nice price too, pretty steep on fuel though.

The centre console looks a bit of a confliction of styles, but that's a nice barge - certainly can't fault the value you get with one of those.

Enjoy your wafting!

I'll always have a soft spot for Omegas, having owned 2 (a 3 litre and a 2.5).

I've never known a nav system to need a sim card. Are you sure you're not missing the disc?

Edit: Congrats :)

That looks a nice one, see if you can get a cheap leather trim like someone else suggested.

I'm actually quite glad it doesn't have leather. My dad's car has leather everywhere and it's actually quite annoying in summer, especially as I'm often out playing football which means shorts + t-shirts = ouch when entering the car :p

Hmmm I'm just considering ditching one of my cars banking the money and buying similar, great VFM

Aye, they really do have a lot of kit. I've just remembered it has rear parking sensors, heated mirrors and auto dim (anti-dazzle) rear view mirror. More stuff than my dad's 7 series afaik.

What do you have atm?

Ohh and cheers for the nice comments chaps :)

The old mans had a nav system, but one of those where you had to pay and it would talk to you. No visual screen.

It also had a sim card slot, think that was for a phone system though?

dammit just spend the last 10 minutes on piston heads looking for a cheap manual v6 :)
