Hi im thinking about going eyefinity or nvidia surround.

The problems im facing is i have a asus p7p55d motherboard so 2 cards is not the way as i have limited lanes in the second slot, so i guess this rules out nvidia surround.

So this leaves eyefinity, the problem is, im budgeting for 3 monitors as-well (under £600) and as far as i know you need to use display port, i haven't come across any monitors in my budget with a display port connection.

I have seen a display port adapter on here but there £70, i cant justify that for an adapter.

Are the new range of ati cards still going to need a display port connection.

can anyone give me some advice as to what my options are.

thanks for taking the time to read this.

apparently ati are bringing out some new DP adapter, which is supposed to be affordable.

eyefinity is great, however once you've tried it you'll find it difficult to revert back to one monitor ;)

This is coming from a eyefinity user. had a watercooled 5970+5870 and 3 hp 24 inch ips monitors. its good for a while but u always look forward. after a bit when u way it up its not worth it. i sold most and dowgraded my pc.
purchased a imac 27 and i love it. still have my pc and a great imac. the later i would much more prefer...

i agree eyefinity is completely on the expensive luxury side, but what do you expect?

i hardly look at the side screens as well, but when it do i find it helpful (in l4d2 for example when you're completely surrounded by a horde)

but, i find it far more enjoyable having a more natural view, as we see in epic widescreen as it is, it feels more natural

as for the new dp adapters, no idea. there was a thread on them not too long ago (or at least mentioned in an ati thread), plus you might have some luck looking on the game.amd.com forums
