A colleague at work is looking to order these but is not happy with the limited paint options. I'm surprised they are only offering three colours: white, black and blue.

So my question is this: which is the best colour to go for out of the three? It would have been nice if space grey was available.

There are also a few extras thrown in for these 4pots: blue stitching, dark alloys, twin exhausts etc.

It would help if you mentioned specific colours rather than just 'blue' etc. ;)

But I looked it up and the blue is Le Mans Blue which is a nice colour, the black is sapphire black which is basically a generic metallic black. I'd go for the Le Mans blue I think.

Twin pipes on a 4 pot though? :o

Oh and apparently you can't add any entertainment packages/idrive options???!! What were BMW thinking??

Well if you want to order your own 318d with the colour you want and the options you want then just order a 318d with the colour you want and the options you want. These special editions are cheaper than ordering a specific car (including the options you get) because they are a standard spec thus cheaper to manufacture.

Depending on the shade of blue I'd get either the blue or black. Most people will buy that off you in the future. Some people love white and others hate it. It's definitely a fashion colour and waxes and wanes in popularity. Overall I'd suggest blue is the safest colour.

So get white :D

because they are designed to appeal to company car and fleet buyers who will just buy something plain anyway. Plus the person buying most probably doesnt give a **** what colour it is because either A) its not for him, he just sources the companies stock or B) its for a work tool and the person buying it is only having it because he has to have a car, not because he actively takes any interest in what he's buying.

Thats why its 318/320 only. As those are the most popular engines for company cars.

Granted some petrolheads do buy company cars, but they have no choice and will buy what they are told to by their fleet buyers so BMW doesnt care !

thanks for the comments guys. Not having the idrive option is a deal breaker for him unfortunately so will have to go the M sport route and add all the extras which obviously would be more expensive.

Strangely enough, the company car website is letting him add the entertainment package but the according to the BMW website it can't be added.

I think part of the problem is BMW's naming of special editions like this. If it was something like a 'Fiesta Freestyle' or 'Astra Tiffany' then people would just think it was a usual specifically specced special edition rather than an upgrade of an existing model which 'Sport Plus' sounds like.

It's a povvo spec edition, hence no nice options. If he wants a proper BMW with all the kit then BMW will happily accept his order for a 335i M Sport ;)

Why not go for an M Sport Business Edition? They include Business navigation that you can upgrade for £3-400 to Professional navigation.
