Ok I know it wasn't the best game in the world to begin with, I played it for a good while on and off after release and haven't really touched it since. Now I decided to give it another whirl the other day and just wow, I haven't been in one game without aimbots/wallhackers whatever since. Its like an epidemic, have Steam just given up on it after their little ban-happy mishap?

Such a shame.

Valve don't handle other developer's bans...

You've now bought the game, so Activision couldn't care less whether you have a good time actually playing it.

What happened? IWNet happened. The thing that was supposed to enhance gaming experience and make cheating impossible with VAC. We were skeptical when IWNet was announced but no one could have thought how complete the failure would eventually be.IWNet is one of the worst things ever created in the history of gaming. It had a decent concept but it seems like the developers gave up right around release date.

I m not paying £40 for it need alone £20

all it is, is MW in a skin, whats so new about it?

Speak for yourself, some of us saw this crap coming a mile off and steered well clear from the start.

I'm not sure anyone could have seen the scale of the failure. Most people thought it would be more or less a failure but the fact that it's pretty much the worst multiplayer environment that has ever existed is something I don't think many people could have imagined before release day.

But maybe you did. I don't know :)

Yeah its turned into a joke sadly :( I still usually manage monster scores unless someones all out botting but whole game feels cheap because you just know 2-3 of your team mates are atleast using a wallhack and same for the other team.

It's ok, there's a new one coming out soon for everyone to throw £30 at and then moan about as it slowly turns to crap over the next year ready for the next release for everyone to jump ship to again. Rinse and repeat.

Its always been a **** game in which everyone will think what could have been. There are also hardly any hackers on MW2, and VAC is still banning quite a few people, its just VAC bans are delayed so they can catch more people using the same cheats.

No doubt MW3, which has been announced as using VAC for its anti-cheat (yeah, right), will be in exactly the same state a few weeks after release, so I'm not gonna touch that with a bargepole!

MW3? No such thing.

Black Ops has dedicated servers, that alone makes it 10x better than MW2.

What happened to it? It succumbed to a disease named greed. Infinity Ward and Activision wanted money, so they milked the franchise. Call of Duty shouldn't continue in the hands of these developers IMO. :P.

Not sure how Treyarch's upcoming one will fair, hopefully it'll be perfect and a good way to redeem the Call of Duty franchise. Likely not, however, due to an entirely evil community. If people were more light hearted about it, it could be good, but Infinity Ward encourages trolling & flaming, so shall it be.

I do share a hatred at the minute for Call Of Duty - And I absolutely hate everything about MW2.
