yep i have checked all the other threads - and just getting confused
going to be pretty much bedbound for a while very soon and need to replace a 10 y/o aldi medion bargain desktop (still does pretty much all i need) but a laptop is going to be needed
budget - £400 max (pretty much - tho cheaper is
)
15/17" screen - looks, colour weight, battery life unimportant but build quality is - as is futureproofing (as much as possible, ram and processor?),
windows 7 (no idea what the diff tween 32/64 is or means)
mainly used for surfing - skype, fb and some of that type of game, lots of surfing n many tabs open at same time - i like multitasking - and get very impatient at slow loading - but i don't download much or store heaps of stuff - so guess ram and processor is way more important than hard drive
dvd player/writer needs to be good quality with a good picture etc
responsive keyboard preffered
have a web cam so not essential but handy
online ordering and delivery is essential - i can't get out to look/try
asus, hp, compaq possibly prefered brands - tho each new link -- arrrgh
and trying to compare prices and processors ram etc - arrrrggggggggghhhhhhhh - pretty meaningless jumble of numbers that make my head hurt - as do all the reviews - and no idea how to compare them - since each website has what appears to be same comp but diff specs
please save me from getting so frustrated n desperate i end up buying a piece of crap
thanks in advance
