What are the contents of "YOUR" Car cleaning arsenal?

1 sponge
1 bucket
5L of dirty oily puddle water
3 micons of "value" washing up liquid
1 handful of assorted grit and gravel etc.

I only charge £12, please head straight to your local, long ago abandoned petrol station for this AMAZING valet service. :p

MrLOL summed it up pretty much though.

I'm not too anal about cleaning so simply after washing just apply Megs Super Resin Polish and claybar every 6months. Beyond that the only stuff I wanna get to add is trim+tyre gel and some fast glass :)

I used to do that with my old Mondeo TD, after removing most of the laquer and paint in places - steam cleaning at night hides the destruction.... - I decided this was not a wise move for my e36.... :o
 
Perfect location - shelter already there, and probably cheap to rent (not a huge profit in petrol stations, so they're usually in cheap locations).

Just out of sheer interest: How long does it take to clean a car with all this stuff to get through? And does that alter how often you do it?
 
half of that stuff revolves around machine polishing your car rather than cleaning it

and another batch of that stuff is for dressing the plastics / metal / tyres etc.. which he wont do every week.

Likewise you wont clay the car every week either, nor will you tardis (tar remover)

Different chemicals for different jobs. But you'll rarely if ever do every single job in one day. But if you were to do a full detail for a paying customer, 2 days can easily spent up doing it ...
 
I don't use all of this stuff every time.

I will wash my car next time, and use the snow foam, Z7, PBW Natural look, and tyre dressing only (oh, and some Z8 which is on its way). Cleaning my car like this can be done in between 30-60 minutes depending on how much attention the wheels require. Interior generally doesn't require much if any attention at all, usually just a quick dust off with a damp microfibre.

I do a semi-thorough clean every 3-4 months or so, a quote from my latest;

A yearly might involve using a bigger portion of that list, but some of that list are similar products, or colous specific products (like PBW Blackhole and Natty's Blue is only suitable for dark cars).

I tend to spend my money there because Rich has yet to sell me anything duff, he's a nice guy to boot and the customer service is second to none. Just need some Project Awesome in October and we'll both be happy.

I have three bike sheds full of stuff, which is insane for somebody who only details part time!

I do have some pics somewhere, I'll try and dig them out.

Make sure he looks after you on Project Awesome, it was half price recently.

They only sell what they use, and they seem to select their range carefully. It's a great business model they have - Clark works his magic with their range, then people buy the same products :)
