Not sure what I'm doing wrong here, but I'm probably just missing something obvious! :p

Bought a LG GH22NS50 from here a couple of months back or so. Finally installed it today but it won't show in the BIOS/Windows. Tried using different PSU power cable/sockets (including confirmed working ones), different SATA cables (again, confirmed working). Double-checked all connections a dozen times between the device, motherboard and PSU.

BIOS is latest official relewase and SATA mode is set to IDE.

System specs to follow in sig shortly...

EDIT: An important nugget of information I neglected to include is that the drive won't even eject.

Normally an optical drive would show signs of life as soon as you power on the PC i.e. the activity light would flicker & or drive should spin up/make some kind of noise.

Do you have another machine you can test it on?

Precisely what I thought, but then this would point to the device being DOA. Never had that happen before though of course it is possible.

No other machine to test it on right now unfortunately.

Am guessing it's RMA time but it's a bit of a PITA for such a low value item. Especially when you consider potential charges on top of the postage if it turns out to be OK.
