I'm in an S-51 now, and have noticed that playing SPGs is a completely different game now. Before, you used to sit in one corner, could cover about 70-80% of the map, and you shot tanks. But now that everyone has full range SPGs, you have to snipe out their SPGs. Wait, watch for the obvious shell firing from one and then drop a shell on their head, and move, because there's probably an SPG on their side watching for you to fire as well. Took me a couple of games to realise this, since I was just getting shelled with no enemies nearby. In some ways this is more insteresting as it adds some skill and intensity in the game, just sitting there, waiting for someont to fire and trying to find them. On the downside, you don't get as many credits as popping enemy tanks that yu can actually see, since you know exactly where they are, rather than having to guess where abouts the SPG is.

closed beta but so many sites have so many keys its pretty much open beta but you need to go and get a key first.

So, I've been playing this for the last few days and although I wasn't completely sure at first, I am now enjoying it. My two main complaints so far would be the UI and the lag. The UI is pretty un-intuitive, and I had to ask about for how to do certain things which I have never had to do in a game before. The lag is also pretty ridiculous - At some points tanks are warping all over the place, making them impossible to hit.. I'm on a 50MB connection with no downloads etc., going so I can't imagine its a problem at my end.
But overall, I'm enjoying it.
Is there a OCUK channel or anything you guys hang out in?

i cant say ive had any lag issues and when your in an actual battle press F1 
theres a huge help disagram thing..
btw your lag might be because the server is now in america before we were using a server in germany but aparently the devs want to load test a server in america, hopefully when the game launches the europe server will be back for ewuropeans

different kind of lag. you're talking more latency, not actual lag.
most of the lag I experience is at the start of the battle. everyon drives into walls and each other
lag is generally caused by latency only time ive ever had what your describing is when ive been alt tabbed at the loading screen browsing the web waiting for the battle to start sometimesi tab back to the game and its like elastic band effects while the game seems to be catching up with everyones movements
lag is servers/client not coping with all the instructions fast enough. In this game, lag often results in desync where you're client say one thing, but really something else is true. Then when the server has caught-up, you snap/rubber-band to the 'correct' position.
i dont rubber band anywhere only the other tanks i see the icons where they are suposed to be but the actual model is sort of rubber banding following the icon while the client resyncs.

The servers in Europe should be back in a few weeks apparently. Not sure what's going to happen with people's accounts, if there's just going to be one big network, or if the two servers will be totally seperate, in which case it may be interesting to see how they cope with getting accounts moved.
Also, regarding the battlegroup things that you can form so you can get into battles with your friends. You need a premium account to get those. Pretty smart move, almost forces people to pay if you want to play together for deffinate. Its hardly a vital thing, and I didn't think they would charge, but it does make sense.

do you only need to be premium to invite though? you might not need a premium account to be invited?
regarding moving accounts they obviously moved them from the europe server in the first place they should just have a central server for the actual games lobby thing and then when you pick a battle choose wether you want to play europe or america

Yeah, only the platoon creator needs to be premium.

Yeah, but when they moved to the US then it was simply copying all the accounts, if they are having completely seperate US and EU servers, that's where there would be problems, as they would either copy everything over meaning loads of inactive accounts. Or they would copy over the ones individually that want to be transfered, which would also be a hastle. Or they may have a central server, as you say. Who knows :3
They have made it somewhat better. I've noticed that when I play with my Stug III there's generally lower level enemy tanks, I'm usually one of the more powerful tanks on the field, but in my S-51 I'm getting all the Tiger IIs. But the t2/3 stages are going to be hard unfortunately. It'll be slightly better at release when everyone starts again from scratch, but otherwise when t2 you're best using HE ad, unless you're an SPG or TD, get around into the enemy base and spot for your team mates. You'll die, but should rack up the exp fairly quickly.
Also if you made the account before the transfer/soft wipe then you'll have been given a ton of gold, use that to buy some of the premium tanks. I think you'll be able to earn free exp with them. Enough time in them will allow you to completely skip T2 altogether, just get the exp to buy through to the next tank.
scouting it is!Well, the matchmaker should mean that you get at least some lower level tanks to shoot at too. The problem there would be larger ones one-shotting them instead, leaving you with not much. In which case, hide in the bushes and try to get some rear armour.
