Need to buy a replacement asap, already had the oven method and it's just given up again, so need a new one

Had a quick scout and came up with the option of a HD5770 1Gb

Looking around that price but want the best for my cash obviously

Please help

Thx in advance

Lol was just about to order the 768Mb version now you go throw a spanner in the works :)

Budget is very tight yes, considering spec in sig and i only really play quake live the extra £50 would be a waste?

768 will do the job, stick to max 4xAA and it will be fine, your GTX had the the same amount of memory, did you find it limiting in the games you're playing..

Edit, yes for what you are playing 1GB is pointless and TBH the 460 is overkill as well but at it's current price it's a steal.

Considering getting a POV 465 for £165 and flashing it to a 470. Well worth the extra £45 - £50?

id still reccomend the 1gb version though.

Why? Look at the link posted above and change it to GTX 460 1Gb Vs GTX460 768Mb there's only a small margin of difference between the two cards and games are either playable or unplayable at the settings used so it's not like the full fat GTX460 is a game changer. By the time the 768mb model is ready to relegated to backup/spare GPU or put on the bay the 1Gb will be in a same position.

From what I've read that's not a good idea, some folks have ruined there cards others have reported major performance/stability issues.

Not every card will take the flash bud.
There are quite a lot of cards being bricked by doing this atm,I'd only say do it if you have the money to waste.

Cant go wrong with a gtx460,cool,low power draw and great bang for buck.
+I havent heard of a single card yet that wont do 800 core, even in the most confined cases.
