Mainly gaming, would be playing bad company 2, FPS games mainly. have a 21" tft already but on verge of ordering a 24". All other peripherals are not required.

Thanks

How about this? A powerful, fast quad, with gobs of cache, has a 1tb hd, great graphics, cracking cooler (which should allow you to overclock to 3.8) and will last as long as an i5 setup but costs considerably less

where is the ram?

the i5 is faster, quad core, will last equally aslong, and has gob loads of cache too.

rather have Seraph i5 build, with a slight psu alteration.

its got a sli motherboard, so two of those cheap ocuk GTX460 in sli will dominate most things.

Don't recall suggesting the 955 was faster, simply that it performs really well and costs a lot less than the i5 across the system.

Surely suggesting a cheaper alternative isn't a bad idea?

but the OP stated that his budget was 650 - 700? if thats his budget then surely thats how much bang he wants for his buck, and intel will do at at this price range, knock 150 off and the amd would win ;)
