Did anyone watch it tonight?

Did you see that off duty police woman get pulled over for using her mobile while driving?

I want to know if she actually got a ticket and points for it as they didn't show the bit of them actually giving her the ticket. And they never mentioned it at the end of the programme when they recap all the events.

Bet the two cops that issued her the ticket, felt right awkward there and under other circumstances wouldn't have given her a ticket.

Gah! Almost lost my breakfast when they flicked to the driver of that first police car. Can they not get a wider angle lens or something?

omg you should have seen the police woman i saw on saturday. youd have started talking about tickets and then all ga-ga and lost the ability to speak

no, kept her gear on.

this thread is now worthless without pics and ill get them.

6ft plus. long straight blonde hair, but being so tall that hair was really long, wearing a practically sprayed on outfit, and looked kinda like that psychotic (albeit pretty) one from hollyoaks

The police should have taken that old fart's licence there and then, or are they not allowed?
I think it's shocking that they let him keep it. OK, the DVLA withdrew it but I can't believe how lenient the police officers were!

Will she get in trouble with her employer for that? Lose her job? She certainly seems more cut up about the ticket than any civilian would.
I think it's more the principle, and the irony, perhaps :p

Won't lose her job but will receive a fine and likely get a superintendent's warning.

Mjt, police have no powers to seize a licence and ban someone from driving under those circumstances. It must be voluntary or be sanctioned by the DVLA.

If she didnt have bad luck she wouldnt have any luck, whats the chances of that happening with the film crew there.

So its ok for the police to use radios while driving because they have had advanced training to do it but they cant use phones, neither can taxi drivers who can also use radios despite not having had advanced training but they are allowed to talk to somebody in the back because its not as distracting as talking to somebody on a hands free kit, Pilots can use both radios and mobile phones while flying a plane and sailors spend most of their time drunk.

What a weird world we live in lol

Advanced and standard police drivers receive no training with regards to using radios.

It is preferable that the in car set is used as there is usuallt a PTT button within convenient and safe reach.

They wrote into the traffic laws that it is OK to use two way radios hence the reason Top Gear now use two way radios in all the road trips.

The police woman who dropped me off from the station had her phone ring whilst driving. She picked it up from the door pocket, looked at it closely whilst holding it no higher than the side window then pulled over to answer it. Whilst talking she then stalled the car as she left the engine running. Tut tut!

A lot of people do it without even thinking. I think it should be standard to have some form of hands free in new cars these days.

You mean get a fine on top of the court fine? What sort of money will that be?

well the average person is stupid, and police are specially trained...

you seriously want them to stop and pull over every time they need to use the radio?

when you are involved in an accident and are lying in the road dieing.. do you also want the ambulance crew to pull over and stop ever time they need to talk to control...?

they stop you may (may) DIE, the taxi driver stop to talk and you are 2 mins late for the pub.....

most cops are the sort of people that would not care...

its the law and they will do their job regardless...

personally I would have let any female off for £20 or a BJ.. probably why I'm not a cop...
