Rollercoaster Tycoon 4

no one would die in RCT 3 , rollercoaster crash or drowning. Also half the time people wouldn't ride anything. Amazing coasters and half empty queues! , This was never a problem in 1 or 2, Funny how they kept on trying to fix it with ai patches

This was one of the things that got me with rct 3. You'd slap down a new kick ass coaster with good ratings and it would be empty. Even if you made the ride free it would still be empty  The 3d part was poorly done meaning simple things like making a queue became a mission.

I could be interested, but the emphasis must remain on fun rather than the technicalities. Actually could you imagine another 2d adventure with a decent development budget, scaled up parks, and released onto steam for £15 . Copies would fly off the shelf! It does seem that they are looking at the worms release and seeing if it should be done though.

My main consideration was keeping the building on a grid mechanic. Looking at that thread though it would seem I'm outnumbered. Full-3D placement usually leads to more limitation, not less.

They wont make a 2d version again as they wont sell any of them, on the proper fans will buy them, they wont get much new business from it as people would be put off by the non flashyness of it. I agree 2d rct4 would be immense but it will never happen.

Weird, I recently installed RCT2 for another bash. Still just as good as it ever was!

As for an RCT4... I would only be interested if they went back to the traditional isometric view and grid style building. RCT and 3D just didn't work for me. As an absolutely huge RCT fan, RCT3 was such a big let down for me.

They should go back to the old view and just rock out with super high definition graphics and plenty of attractions. Then just add plenty of social networking and sharing features. In addition to a single player mode you could have a sandbox mode that is somewhat online where other players can view your park; or even some kind of multiplayer mode.

Unfortunately they'll probably stick with the awkward 3D view. :/

Maybe they could optimise this one better as even on my fairly modern dual core 3.4ghz 4gig ram, ati 4850 my comp slows to a crawl on a big park I made. The game was made in like 2004 and is killing my 2008 components. :(

I prefer RCT 1 because you had to do each scenerio in turn , still though RCT 2 is good , 3 just annoyed me ( queues , can't kill peons )

I've had RCT3 for a few years and enjoyed it now and again, although I didn't go mad on it. Fun game, but there were others I was more into.

Then, on recommendation here, I got RCT2 and it looks crap, no fun at all, just because of the grainy graphics. Do you guys mod it somehow, or do you play as is? I'd really like to play it because it's supposed to be so much better than RTC3, but I just can't take that graphics hurdle.

If you're playing a Rollercoaster Tycoon game because of graphics then there is something severely wrong...

If they implemented it properly then they could possibly create both 2D and 3D.

I would really want a 2D photo realistic game though! Imagine the graphics they could achieve now with it!

The game is not for the graphics you must know that.

Sorry but what does 2d do which 3d can't? And RCT 3 was on a grid system... It was just a hidden grid

It was the isometric view that did it, made the game far better than the 3D ones i have had endless fun on 1 & 2 with the expansions glad they still work on win 7 really.

This & Theme hospital need new iterations. But back to the original go back to where the fans really enjoyed it even a download only game back in the isometric view so they don't put it in the shops only on steam to see how it does.

I have almost identical setup, only with half the RAM and it runs perfectly!

It would be a glorious day when Theme Hospital and RCT come to Steam. Admittedly i never seem to play RCT anymore but at least it would be easier to maybe get back into it.
