i7 [email protected] with H70. Would W/C be a worthwhile upg?

Just wondering if I sold the Hydro H70 for a proper custom water cooling system how much extra can I squeeze out of the i7? roughly

What kind of temps are you getting at the moment;

On load?

At idle?

after four days of having all the cores at 100% my load temps never went past 68c

can't be sure about my idle temps, 28 IIRC

that's very good, I wouldn't bother with a custom water setup as that's only 2-3C more than I get with a i7 920 @ 4GHz, EK supreme HF and a 420 rad

That's what I was thinking but I heard that anything over 4ghz produced loads more heat :confused:

Even thought the CPU is looking pretty cool, my room is getting a bit hot

The only reason u would want to switch to custom water for really is to have those sorta temps and quite running fans. Or if you wanted a new challenge, thats why most go water cooling from what iv seem, to try something new.

Now with that being said, it really all depends on how much vcore is required for certain clocks, you may be lucky and not need a lot more, or u may be unlucky and need a lot more.

Yep getting good temps, only way to see how much extra heat you get from the chip is by actually trying it out yourself, always going for the minimum vcore and vtt/qpi possible.
