Really loving this track, can't wait for the rest of the album on the 14th :-)

And then seeing them in Nov will be sweet.

Another track has hit the airwaves (of Interwaves anyway) "Waiting For The End" is being steamed on the Linkin Park MySpace page and yet another musical style from Linkin Park.

Check it out here and let me what you think? Took a few plays for me to like it.

Got to say, I hate the catalyst with a passion. it builds up so epicly but then the main chorus just sounds terrible.

but the rest I've heard is awesome!

edit: The catalyst does get a lot better, but it just soudns horrible to start with.

I am fairly unimpressed with the three songs so far.

None of them have much pure guitar, and the lyrics on the Catalyst have been put through more filters than Britney Spears.
 
ive seen them 3 times now, at the reading festival in 2003, at the MK bowl with Jay-z on the Projekt Revolution tour in 2008 and also at the 02 in 2008. They are an awesomely entertaining band and brilliant live performers. So far, ive preferred everything they've done to what was on their first album. Nu metal might have been their ticket to fame so to speak, but im glad it's behind them lol


oh, gutted i missed out on the tickets to see them again in November though. as far as these new tracks go, little undecided though i like the Catalyst a lot.
 
Bleuugh, another horrible album by the sound of it so far :( Hybrid Theory was pretty much THE album which got me into any music involving guitars when it first came out, I don't feel they have made anything worth listening to since then...ah well, they are great live however, especially when they play the older stuff :D
 
Unimpressed so far - and are they trying to put on Caribbean accents or is it all in my head? It makes me unable to listen to Wretches and Kings.

It usually takes a few listens for LP's music to sit well with me, but failing to enjoy it at all this time around.
 
Spoken to a friend who has this album on demo, as he works in the industry.

He said there's only 4, 5 at a push songs worth listening to out of the 15, he's really disappointed with it.

Apparently its packed with 1 minutes spacers/pointless tracks.
 
So far im more impressed the fact they have been able to keep the whole album of the torrent sites than i am with what ive heard.
 
I hear a lot of people complaining that they don't like the fact that the songs don't sound the same as the Hybrid Theory album, but how many bands that have been around as long as Linkin Park or longer still carry the same sound?

Even Metallica, another band i love and have seen live changed their sound and although Death Magnetic was said to be a lot like there older stuff it's still different.

Linkin Park with their different side projects (Fort minor, Dead by Sunrise) and the collaboration work they have done with Jay-Z and Busta Rhymes etc and film soundtracks are going to pick up new styles and want to try new things.

I for one as a FAN welcome this.

Dead by sunrise wasn't bad but still pap
Fort Minor is the only side project I've enjoyed.

I really didn't mind Minutes to Midnight, I'd rather they did that kind of style again instead of this rubbish coming out.

As a FAN I disapprove of the songs so far!
 
Being a big LP fan myself, and having listened to the new album I am greatly disappointed with the new album.

Theres far to many pointless short break tracks, and the new style to most of the songs is just carp.

Dead by Sunrise I really enjoyed, as I did with Fort Minor.

A thousand suns is LP's worst album to date, and they should go back to what they did best musical, in my opinion, on Hybrid Theory/Meteora and parts of Minutes to Midnight.

Being a big LP fan myself, and having listened to the new album I am greatly disappointed with the new album.

So you say your a "big fan" and you admit to downloading the album before it's released and then you say you are "greatly disappointed". Yeah sounds like the kind of fan LP can do without.

And at what point during my post did I say or imply that I downloaded the album? I merely said that I have already listerned to the new album!

You dont know if Ive pre-ordered the album along with any of the additionals or not either. You also dont know if Im a member of the LPU or not either.

You neither know me, what I do for a living, who my friends or contacts are or anything about me so I would thank you for not judging me.

Waiting for the End is good but the other stuff is a bit 'meh'. I think it's going to be a grower. IMO Meteora is their best album.

I personally like all of the tracks on the album, nice direction and not too doom and gloom emo stuff.
