Didn't it say at the start of the show that Matt would have to make the decision to "land the plane"?

He didn't have to land it - The crew member explicitly just said to assist. Also, why did no one question whether the OTHER pilot can land the plane instead?

And yes I understand they are actors!

Yeah, to get him to help. I bet he still has to "land" it. And there is no other pilot? Yes I know there should be, hence why Derren said it's an impossible situation, but it's not like this guy knows that, and even if so wouldn't all the staff telling you there wasn't mean you'd just accept that?
