I have a friend who is looking to sell what I believe is an Omega DeVille. He has told me to say "Omega De Ville 18ct Gold and stainless steel. Sweep second hand. Steel bracelet. Valued in 2001 at £975"

What he would like to know is does anyone know roughly how much he could could get for it and where the best place would be to flog it?

Any other advice would be appreciated.

seems in good condition so would agree with your prices

They don;t hold their money well then for something which costs £2800 new? Bad choice of watch I guess. A £2800 rolex would be worth much more than this watch is now?

some watches hold their value much better than others. This is dated without looking classic and I think the market reflects that.

You are right about Rolex, they hold their value very well (still not my cup of tea). The sports models hold their value more than the dressy rolex.

That is quite old and would have been much leass that £1k when new

some Rolex do not hold value well, used Datejusts and Day Dates can be bought for around 1/3 of list
