This was on the telly last night. If that had been here I think that some of my neighbours would have cut the thing down by now. This nutter had built a 12ft wall around his garden before this. There are limits to an Englishman's home is his castle.

You can have a castle but we will tell you exactly how to build it has limits etc.

Bushes are a common obstacle you come across as a student but this breaking all the boundaries! The man really out to move to a detached house if he wants privacy!

That's ridiculous, not sure if anyone can do about it. I would reckon you might say it is a hazard to the building. If I was the neighbour I would let his insurance company know I am sure they would increase his premiums.

In the past ppl have spent 100,000's on arguments to do with fences especially ones like he has.

Luckily, the council can stop things like this quite easily:

• In Britain, if the neighbour digs his heels in and stubbornly refuses to reduce the height of the trees or hedge, then you can contact your local council. A complainant must prove they have tried to resolve matters privately first before approaching their local council. If the council deems the hedge excessive, they can ( under the anti-social behaviour act 2003 ) order it to be reduced in height to two metres.

• Failure to comply with this order could mean a fine of £1,000.

I believe the local council have said that they will wait a while to see if the neighbours can come to an agreement before they act.

Surely he can grow it as tall as he wants.

If it grows over neighbours gardens then cut it back. Looks awesome I think. :D
