Hi Chaps
What chance Nvidia dropping prices on the GTX470/480 prior to the Radeon 6 Series release.
I'm looking to buy but prices seem fairly static at the moment.

I.E GTX470 ~ £220.00 Inc Vat
GTX480 ~ £350.00 Inc Vat

I'm kinda thinking £200/320 would be good?

Not at Overclockers::confused:

The prices do fluctuate up & down abit with special offers etc, but i'm really looking for a solid price drop on the Asus / MSi models specifically.

Just hoping Nvidia might fancy abit more market share prior to 6 series launch:)

Thanks

I'm sure we will see some nVidia price drops nearer the 6*** launch especialy if the new ATI cards give nVidia's current cards a good kicking.

lol it's been three years in coming 5k posts, some members have over 6k posts and they only joined up in January.

Well, you say some...

But I would not expect the 470 to drop at all until 6xxx series release - it's already dropped £80 from launch prices.

even if the HD6XXXcome out tomoz I will not be getting one...my GTX480 does what its supposed to do and well, I have not even overclocked it yet. O_O

^^ I say that to myself every new generation of cards that come out, always get suckered in. :o

5000 series did that to me, but i planned on moving from my 4870 anyway, i plan on keeping my 5970 for a while now if it can keep up in the future.

also I might had that the PC has stopped being so troublesome and does what its supposed to do.... No blue screen of death here

I keep twiching selling my 5970 and purchasing the gtx480 but im not sure if its worth it or not

Yep, when I get the upgrade bug all reason goes out of the window.
For a while, I try & justify why not to, but the thought of opening that brand spanking new box & running all those benchies again always wins in the end:D
There is just something about new technology that in the end is irresistible:)
