Contract phone with xx free line rental

Been looking to replace the girlfriends phone as its broken recently, had a look at contract deals on a Nokia E71,

(i would post the site, but I'm not sure if OCUK allows it)

The details are
T mobile Pay Monthly
Unlimited Mobile Internet
600 Minutes
500 Texts
18 Months Contract
£30.00 Per Month

What I was wondering about is the incentive is 13months free line rental, which would hugely reduce the cost down to an average of £8.33 per month, so whats the catch?

Assuming its a redemption deal there's no catch, you just have to send a copy of your £30 bill to them every 6 months or so.

With redemption you can get a HTC Desire with similar minutes and texts to that for about £17 per month, go have a look at Mobiles.co.uk

If you are going for the cheapest bottom of the barrel phone/deal you can get, ignore that

To the OP, if your girlfriend wants a phone that is mainly for calls and texts you can't fault the E71 tbh, call quality on it is the best I have ever had on a phone, loudspeaker performance is fantastic too as is battery life.

If she likes to browse net and fiddle with apps n stuff then get the desire/galaxy s/x10

@Robboftw Yeh i believe i will be jealous haha,but FroydVillain on my hero keeps me happy.

@IamMed well the process for getting a new phone so far has been, i show her a picture, she says if she likes it not, so its the general aesthetic of the device haha.
Being a girl, she doesnt bother with specs. Also shes been using a payg phone throughout her life, so she never had the luxury to browse net/fiddle apps. She'll probably get into it if she got one.
