Anybody know a fix for that garnier advert pop up?

Yeah u know above ur icons near clock at bottom right of screen, pops up there till i click the x to close it. Nothings open cept vlc player thunderbird email client and msn.

are you logged into msn at the time and also have the contacts page showing?

If you scroll over the area it pops the advert up.

I just moved the contacts bit up the screen away from the right hand corner as it always popped up when I had the cursor in that area as it's very sensitive.

Hasnt come back in some hours so might have gone somehow. And stop saying its msn it is not.

Sorry to keep bringing MSN up. But this evening I had an advert pop up also. The main MSN window was not selected and it was showing through an open folder. I have also used apatch to remove all ads etc.

My pc is also virus/malware free. Its the only thing I can think of that would have a floating advert on your desktop without being from some dodgy software.

I used A Patch soon as i installed msn and it was instead about a year ago now.

My msn is ad free so that is not where it was coming from.

Haven't seen it pop up again so i expect its gone now.

if you're looking for a fix, try Pidgin. it's like MSN after it's been a-patched, but even better!

Was watching a film last night and the this Garnier advert appeared in the bottom left corner

Had a feeling it might be msn, good know as hijackthis didn't show anything.

What are you playing at microsoft!?

Just found a way to block the adverts:

Click Start button on Windows
Go to Control Panel –> Internet Options
Click on the security tab and click on ’Sites’ under restricted sites.
Add the url “rad.msn.com” and those ads will never be shown again.

:p
