Achtung Panzer: Kharkov 1943; anyone played?

As title really. The reviews seem ok to good but I would like any comments from players who have had direct experience of the game. I really want a game I can get my tactical and strategic teeth into.

Not played this but have you considered hearts of iron 3. That's a real mans tactical dream!

That's a grand strategy game, you don't order around anything smaller than a brigade. You also spend a lot of time on economy, politics, subterfuge etc, ie running a nation.

Achtung Panzer puts you in the battalion-level theatre with direct control and focuses entirely on the fighting in\around Kharkov - as opposed to almost the entire world as a potential battleground in HOI3.

Have you looked at the Theatre of War games? I remember the first one getting quite decent reviews when it came out...

I have played HoI3 (enjoyed it but felt a little sterile) and theToW games (Again quite enjoyable). I think I'll just take the plunge with this as a lot of the specialist strategy/wargame sites give it ok reviews.
